Maiaroto Sports Complex - Synthetic Turf Fields

Township of Voorhees

Constructed in the spring of 2017, the Voorhees Township Memorial Sports Complex new synthetic turf field serves the Township and local soccer organizations. Fronting on Echelon Road, the under-drained synthetic turf field was installed to retrofit an existing poorly drained grass field. The improvements were necessary to improve the safety and increase the usage capability of this intensely utilized Township facility in lieu of acquiring and developing additional lands.

Contract documents were prepared by Mr. Gregory Valesi, PE of CME Associates over the 2017 winter working closely with Mayor Michael Mignogna and Council, the Township Engineering Department, Department of Public Works, and Voorhees Soccer Association. The project was publicly bid and the construction contract was awarded to The Landtek Group, Inc. of Amityville New York.

All construction was completed under the supervision of CME Associates and included removal and replacement of the existing grass field with a state-of-the-art synthetic turf product manufactured by FieldTurf lined for one 11 v. 11 field, three 9 v. 9 fields, and three 7 v. 7 fields. Additionally, the improvements included Musco sports lighting, perimeter walkway, perimeter fencing, new bleacher pads, and upgrades to existing stormwater systems. The entire project was designed, permitted, bid, and constructed in under 5 months in order to host the Voorhees Soccer Associations Annual Memorial Day Classic tournament.
